OneKey Classic 1S Review 2026: Hands-On Testing from a Solana DeFi Platform
OneKey reached out to StakePoint to put the Classic 1S through its paces. After one week of daily use managing Solana wallets and DeFi transactions, here is our honest take.

Non-custodial token and LP locking on Solana
First Impressions
The size catches you off guard. Credit card dimensions, 20 grams, slips straight into your wallet. For anyone managing crypto on the go or just wanting something that does not look like a USB stick from 2015, it immediately stands out from the competition.
The matte black finish looks sharp out of the box. It feels light but not cheap, and while the plastic build will not win any premium hardware awards, it holds up fine to daily pocket carry.
Security
This is where the Classic 1S earns its place. The device uses an EAL6+ certified secure element chip alongside a separate MCU for device functions. EAL6+ is the same security standard used in government passports and bank cards, so it is not marketing fluff.
Private keys never leave the device. Every transaction requires physical confirmation on the device itself before anything is signed. The firmware is fully open source and has been independently audited by SlowMist, a well-respected security firm in the crypto space.
PIN protection is enforced with an automatic factory reset after 10 consecutive incorrect attempts. If someone gets hold of your device and tries to brute force the PIN, it wipes itself. You restore from your recovery seed phrase, which is the only backup that matters.
For our team at StakePoint, where users are locking tokens and managing liquidity positions on Solana, the hardware level security combined with clean Solana support made this a natural fit to test.
Setup and Daily Use
Setup took under ten minutes. Power on, choose language, generate your seed phrase, set your PIN, pair to the OneKey app via Bluetooth on mobile. Done.
One thing worth knowing upfront: the desktop app connects via USB only, and the mobile app connects via Bluetooth only. There is no crossover. That is not a dealbreaker but worth knowing before you start.
The OneKey app itself is genuinely good. Staking, swaps, portfolio tracking, DeFi access and NFT support are all in there. Connecting to Jupiter through the app worked without any friction, which matters for anyone active in Solana DeFi.
Solana support is confirmed across the full feature set including NFTs, SPL tokens, and DeFi interactions. For a Solana focused platform like StakePoint this was the key test and it passed cleanly.
The Screen
The 128x64 OLED display is the obvious compromise. It is small and monochrome, which gets the job done for confirming transaction details but reading a long wallet address takes patience. If you are coming from a device with a colour touchscreen, the adjustment is noticeable.
Button navigation with the four physical buttons is functional but not fast. Scrolling through seed phrase entry or navigating deeper menus takes a bit longer than you might want. For daily use it is fine, for frequent complex operations it can feel slow.
Who Is It For
The Classic 1S is well suited to Solana holders, DeFi users, and anyone who wants reliable cold storage without the size, cost, or complexity of flagship devices. At $99 it sits in a strong value position.
If you want a colour touchscreen, fingerprint sensor, and wireless charging, the OneKey Pro is the step up. But for most people managing Solana positions, locking tokens, or just keeping holdings off exchanges, the Classic 1S covers everything you actually need.
The Verdict
Strong security credentials, solid Solana support, genuinely portable form factor, and a clean companion app. The screen and button navigation are the only real compromises and neither is a problem for typical use.
At $99 it is one of the better value hardware wallets available right now. For Solana DeFi users specifically it is a straightforward recommendation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the OneKey Classic 1S support Solana?
Yes. The Classic 1S supports Solana natively including SPL tokens, NFTs, and DeFi interactions. It connects to the OneKey app which supports Jupiter and other Solana protocols.
How many wrong PIN attempts before the OneKey Classic 1S wipes?
Ten consecutive incorrect PIN entries will trigger an automatic factory reset. You restore access using your recovery seed phrase.
Is the OneKey Classic 1S open source?
Yes. The firmware is fully open source and has been independently audited by SlowMist. Builds are reproducible and verifiable on GitHub.
What is the difference between the Classic 1S and the Classic 1S Pure?
The standard Classic 1S has a small built-in rechargeable battery. The Pure version is battery-free and runs only when connected via USB-C. Both share the same security features and functionality.
How does the OneKey Classic 1S compare to Ledger?
The Classic 1S offers open source firmware and Bluetooth connectivity at a comparable price point to the Ledger Nano X. Ledger has broader brand recognition but has faced past controversy over closed source elements and a data breach. OneKey is fully transparent with reproducible builds and third party audits.
